The Children’s Health Place is pleased to introduce Karen Gelfand, M.D., you can call her Dr. G! Dr. Gelfand is an established Pediatrician with over 20 years of pediatric experience in hospitals and medical centers. Her vast knowledge, experience and personal approach to healthcare will ensure your visits are fun and informative.

Dr. Gelfand is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she grew up and completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Gelfand LOVES babies and that sparked her interest in pursuing pediatrics. Throughout her career, Dr. Gelfand has spent time in Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico at several top-tier medical centers, and for the last three years she served as Pediatrician and Medical Director at Holy Cross Medical Center in Taos, New Mexico. Dr. Gelfand’s specialties include newborn care, breastfeeding support, and acupuncture. After recognizing a passion for acupuncture, she studied at the premier medical acupuncture program at the Helms Institute and is looking forward to offering a new method of treatment for our patients. Dr. Gelfand gets absolutely giddy about meeting babies, so don’t be surprised if she holds your baby the entire visit.

When she’s not in the office, Dr. Gelfand likes to spend her time hiking and enjoying the colorful Colorado outdoors. She is currently accepting recommendations for restaurants with the best fish tacos in Northern Colorado. We are excited Dr. Gelfand is here, and we can’t wait for you to meet her!
